Google\’s language manglement

I just got the following in my mail inbox:

search box that says Cheating Adult Personals

I didn't delete it right away because the subject was "free online profile", so I thought it must have come from a FOAFer…

Whatever, I do actually find it quite interesting. One of the arguments against against metadata being useful is that people are too lazy to create it. In other words, the computer will have to go to the person because the person's not going to go to the computer. Maybe, but if I read it correctly there's some real cognitive effort hinted at in the image above - "Cheating" - is that cards? tax evasion? Probably adultery. "Adult" - right, that has little to do with human maturation, it means nudity/sexual acts. "Personals" - personal advertisements maybe? So the real query is more like "please show me some personal ads from adulterers interested in sex".

Do we all have to modify our language because of Google's inadequacies? (Or is it just a shibboleth for smutmongers..?)

PS. I wanted to link something from the image above, so I did a quick image search. You'll never guess what the 32nd hit for " ugly" is. If that doesn't confirm the inadequacies of Google I don't know what does…
