Doc Searls points to Julian Bond's experiments with strimming Google Ads and inserting them into an RSS feed. In the same post Doc links to RS 3 which is a speaking RSS reader ( sounds familiar). One of its features is ad-stripping.
Just looked at the RS 3 description, it has some other interesting features - like using the GNU Open Text Summarizer to reduce the volume of content.
