Getting virtual

VMware Player is free software that enables PC users to easily run any virtual machine on a Windows or Linux PC.

The available VM packages are mostly from big vendors, and the general idea seems to be for evaluation of these. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something conceptually nice about this. It's interesting that apart from a couple of "complete" platform VMs (SUSE and RedHat are listed) the packages are all (mostly big) application oriented. There's even a browser app , where you can use the Web in the VM without worrying about spyware etc.
