Tantek announces microformats search and ping multiplexer at Technorati. Bravo! Very cool.
A quick search for " semantic web" on the hCard-derived Contacts search gives a moderately convincing result: two Dan Connollys (linked to his homepage) and one Yves Lafon (linked to the Tech Plenary Day Agenda..!?).
Must confess I was rather hoping the first uF search would have
been a SemWeb effort - the tools are pretty much all avalaible off
the shelf, a few days spent wiring should have done it.
I'm a little unsure about the use of HTTP GET for pings - it is trivially simple to use, but still it seems a misuse, it's not getting data it's posting it. Pragmatically though I guess it makes sense. I'm puzzled why the results aren't microformatted, maybe that's on the list for later. It would make the system a nice (low-REST, lower-case semweb) service.
Whatever, the Technorati setup looks to be a useful set of
tools, and provides a nice bit of motivation for people to put
machine-readable data on the Web. Marvellous.
