The Summer of Incompetence@en

Few more links on the Norvig/Berners-Lee encounter for folks that don't follow Planet RDF:

Frederick Giasson emphasises the trust layer of the SemWeb (and quotes my post to an embarassing-if-I-didn't-have-a-huge-ego degree).

Jim Hendler, who was at AAAI and knows the protagonists well has some nice-to-know backchannel info, and a photo of Tim talking to John McCarthy - pretty funny under the circumstances, they're sat in front of a Yahoo! banner...

(btw, if I'd read more carefully, I would have seen Jim was the person behind putting our Sparql on the SemWeb - thanks!)

Pasquale e Luca have been busy with the campaign, new logos:

Incompetent? Semantic!

There's plenty more fun to be had, how about a Declaration of Incompitence [sic]:

  • As Semantic Web developers we acknowledge that a significant proportion of the human race (including Semantic Web developers) suffers from incompetency some, most or even all of the time
  • We declare that our systems will be built in such a way that incompetents will not be excluded from acting as full participants on the Semantic Web
  • We can't help but notice that search engine results are sometimes less than perfect
