Joe Gregorio suggests counting the number of IP addresses in your house, comparing with the number of electric motors. My first guess was about 6, 12 - I've got quite a few power tools. Tipped off in comments over there, I realise that second figure is likely out by an order of magnitude - this laptop contains at least 3 motors, possibly double that.
