Virtuoso provides:
- Object-Relational DBMS Engine (ORDBMS like PostgreSQL and
DBMS engine like MySQL)
- XML Data Management (with support for XQuery, XPath, XSLT,
and XML Schema)

RDF Triple Store (or Database) that supports SPARQL
(Query Language, Transport Protocol, and XML Results
Serialization format)
- Service Oriented Architecture (it combines a BEPL Engine with
an ESB)
- Web Application Server (supports HTTP/WebDAV)
- NNTP compliant Discussion Server
All the usual platforms, just became Open Source (GPL2).
In other triplestore news, the Tucana/Northrup Grumman logjam seems to have finally broken, with the open source side (formerly known as Kowari) forking off as a new project called Mulgara. Excellent news, I found Kowari a treat to use (which is why it features in the RSS/Atom book). David Wood has the latest.
